01 · What one payment buys
One price.
Two things.
In the box
- One NeoBall, size 6 or size 7, in YP Cyan.
- Activation for the adult who will own the account.
In YP Academy, for the term you choose
- Academy access opens the YP training app. Your prepaid term covers everything we add to it while it runs.
- A personalized training plan with parent-visible progress.
- Your prepaid Academy term — no auto-renew, no card on file. Everything we add to Academy during your term is included.
- Included YP Academy access does not auto-renew.
02 · How it works
Four steps.
01
Choose the fit
Size 6 or size 7. Pick the ball they train with now. If their league or coach specifies a size, use that.
02
Activate
The adult creates the account and starts the prepaid term. Guardian onboarding happens after checkout, not during it.
03
Run it at home
Phone open for the cue, phone down for the reps. A hallway, a bedroom, a basement.
04
Keep moving
Progress stays visible to the parent. Everything we add to Academy during the term is included.
The term starts when YP Academy is activated, not at checkout.
03 · The plan
A plan,
not a feed.
Each session opens with a cue, not a scroll. Read it, put the phone down, do the reps, come back and mark it done. Academy access opens the YP training app. Your prepaid term covers everything we add to it while it runs.

04 · The questions parents ask
Asked before.
Answered here.
01
Will they actually use it?
That is what the plan is for. A clear next step every time they pick it up, and progress the parent can see.
02
Is it a real ball or a gimmick?
A training ball with heft. approx. 624 g · 22 oz in size 7, approx. 540 g · 19 oz in size 6, owner-stated. A suede-feel cover, three black seams, YP Cyan.
03
Will it bother the house?
NeoBall is designed for quieter indoor skill work and daily touches between practices. Not silent. Nothing that bounces is. A rug under the spot helps the floor below more than any ball can.
04
Another screen?
Open the session, read the cue, put the phone down. YP Academy is a plan, not a game.
05
What does it actually cost?
$88, once. The ball and 12 months of YP Academy. No subscription, no card on file, and nothing charged when the term ends.
05 · Sound
Not silent.
Nothing that bounces is.
NeoBall is designed for quieter indoor skill work and daily touches between practices. We do not publish a sound measurement. There is no published standard for measuring how loud a basketball is, so a number would have nothing to be verified against. We would rather say that than publish one.
“Silent basketball” is a category noun, not an acoustic or comparative performance claim.
Two kinds of noise
What you hear. What the floor feels.
The bounce you hear travels through the air. The thud the floor below feels travels through the structure, and no ball fixes that on its own. A rug or a mat under the practice spot is the cheapest fix there is, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a promise.
Recommended: any rug · any mat · not the bare floor
06 · Specs
What it is.
What it isn’t.
Two sizes, both with real heft. Owner-stated and approximate. We publish what we have measured ourselves and name no governing standard, because weight alone does not establish one.

The reverse-sell
Kids don’t grow into a basketball the way they grow into a jacket. They build habits on it today. When in doubt, stay down a size.
An oversized ball forces a two-handed heave from the chest, and that habit sticks.
The 30-second fit test
- Hold it with both hands without readjusting.
- Dribble under control.
- Raise it into a shooting position.
If they can’t shoot with one hand guiding the ball, it’s too big, whatever the box says. Recreational and school leagues may set ball sizes, so confirm with the coach or organiser.
Find their size · three questions
1. How old is the athlete?
2. Who is it for?
3. Does their league specify a ball size?

FAQ
Does NeoBall auto-renew?
No. The included YP Academy term is prepaid. Your prepaid Academy term — no auto-renew, no card on file. Everything we add to Academy during your term is included.
What happens when the 12 months are up?
Nothing is charged. The account moves to the free tier of YP Academy, so the profile and history are not lost, and continuing on a paid plan is an opt-in you make at the time. The ball is yours permanently either way.
When does the prepaid term start?
The term starts when YP Academy is activated, not at checkout. That is what makes it a clean gift: an order placed in October still gets its full term from the day it is set up.
Is NeoBall actually silent?
No. Anyone selling you a silent basketball is selling you something impossible.
Will it bother the downstairs neighbours?
There are two kinds of noise. The bounce you hear travels through the air. The thud the floor below feels travels through the structure, and a rug or mat under the practice spot does more about that than any ball can.
Can we use NeoBall outdoors?
No. It is an indoor training ball. Outdoor asphalt and concrete will chew through the cover.
What can you actually practice in a house?
Ball-handling and footwork. Coaches call these closed skills: the movement does not depend on a defender, a rim or a court, so a hallway teaches them as well as a gym does. Shooting stays at the gym. The noise in shooting is the rim, and no ball changes that.
How do you keep the peace at home?
Three rules. Low dribbles: a ball dribbled at the knee hits the floor with less force than one dribbled at the waist, and it is the harder drill. A rug: anything under the dribble takes the edge off. Hours: agree on them in advance.
What size should I get for a 13-year-old?
Size 6 for girls and women 13 and up, and for boys 13 to 14. Size 7 for boys and men from 15. When in doubt, stay down a size, and run the 30-second fit test on this page.
Does it match the ball our league uses?
Owner-stated and approximate. We publish what we have measured ourselves and name no governing standard, because weight alone does not establish one. Recreational and school leagues may set their own ball sizes, so confirm with the coach or organiser.
Does buying NeoBall create an account for my kid?
No. The account belongs to the adult who buys it. The athlete is a profile inside it. Your purchase covers the term you chose. You set up the account after checkout.
What exactly comes with the $88?
One NeoBall in size 6 or size 7, and one prepaid year of YP Academy. Academy access opens the YP training app. Your prepaid term covers everything we add to it while it runs. Included YP Academy access does not auto-renew.
Will NeoBall Genesis Drop 1 be restocked?
No. Limited edition. Genesis Drop 1 is one run, and there will be no more. When a size is gone, it is gone.
What is the difference between $88 and $188?
$88 is one NeoBall plus one prepaid year of YP Academy. $188 is one NeoBall plus three prepaid years. Three separate one-year terms are $264. This is $188. The $188 three-year option is capped at 1,000 Founding Athletes. Neither auto-renews.
Can I buy it as a gift?
Yes. Set the account up before you wrap it, so the first session is waiting when they open the box. The term starts when YP Academy is activated, not at checkout.
What if we don’t like it?
Not right? We refund 100% of the purchase price — no questions asked — for 30 days from the day YP Academy is activated. Before it ships, you can cancel for a full refund at any time. Returns under the guarantee are free: we email you a prepaid label. Email help@youthperformance.com with your order number.
When does it ship, and what does shipping cost?
Shipping is free. NeoBall ships from California in two to four weeks. Delivery time depends on destination. We ship to US addresses only for now. You can cancel for a full refund any time before your order ships.
What is YP Academy?
The YP training app. Academy access opens the YP training app. Your prepaid term covers everything we add to it while it runs. The included term is prepaid and does not auto-renew; when it ends, the account moves to the free tier.
